Responsibility

The sustainability concept in the three pillar model is part of our corporate remit and actively promoted corporate mission.

Ecological sustainability describes our goal of preserving nature and the environment for future generations. Biella endeavours to promote active protection of the natural environment in all its companies. This is why, wherever possible, we use environmentally friendly recycling materials, prefer PP to PVC, optimise transport routes and logistics (made possible by all factories being sited in Europe) and we have also been awarded various certificates including FSC®, the Blue Angel and Austrian Eco Label.

Economic sustainability underpins the way we work, forming a sound basis for the efforts, welfare and personal development of our employees, while at the same time ensuring sound financial results for our investors and our customers. The foundation for this is provided, among other things, by our quality management, fulfilment of BSCI standards, compliance with legal requirements and standards, as well as far-sighted management and common sense.

Biella regards social sustainability as a development which is always embedded in society, in our regions and countries, in communities and in our Europe. Biella is a fair employer and promotes the personal development of its employees both within the company and in their development as members of a forward-looking society in which life is worth living.
